CNN Explainer: Learning Convolutional Neural Networks with Interactive Visualization – La Biblia de la IA – The Bible of AI Journal La Biblia de la IA - The Bible of AI Journal

#artificialintelligence

Deep learning's great success motivates many practitioners and students to learn about this exciting technology. However, it is often challenging for beginners to take their first step due to the complexity of understanding and applying deep learning. We present CNN Explainer, an interactive visualization tool designed for non-experts to learn and examine convolutional neural networks (CNNs), a foundational deep learning model architecture. Our tool addresses key challenges that novices face while learning about CNNs, which we identify from interviews with instructors and a survey with past students. CNN Explainer tightly integrates a model overview that summarizes a CNN's structure, and on-demand, dynamic visual explanation views that help users understand the underlying components of CNNs.

Abstract: Deep learning's great success motivates many practitioners and students to learn about this exciting technology. Users can interactively visualize and inspect the data transformation and flow of intermediate results in a CNN.

Learning Convolutional Neural Networks for Graphs

arXiv.org Machine Learning

Numerous important problems can be framed as learning from graph data. We propose a framework for learning convolutional neural networks for arbitrary graphs. These graphs may be undirected, directed, and with both discrete and continuous node and edge attributes. Analogous to image-based convolutional networks that operate on locally connected regions of the input, we present a general approach to extracting locally connected regions from graphs. Using established benchmark data sets, we demonstrate that the learned feature representations are competitive with state of the art graph kernels and that their computation is highly efficient.
